Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Shadow & Sun (“we”, “us”, “the Service”) operates shadowandsun.app, which offers career-interest assessments based on the Holland RIASEC framework and generates personalised reports. By creating an account or purchasing a report you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and minors

Accounts may only be created by people aged 18 or older. Assessments for anyone under 18 must be administered by a parent or legal guardian from the adult’s account, with the guardian’s explicit consent recorded before the assessment begins. Only the minor’s first name is stored with their results.

3. What you are buying

A purchase grants one report credit: one complete assessment run, one scored and AI-narrated report (viewable online and downloadable as a PDF), and a limited number of questions to Dawn, our AI assistant, about that report. Prices are stated in Indian Rupees (INR) and processed by Cashfree Payments.

We may issue promotional coupon codes — including multi-use codes distributed through campuses, institutions, or partners — that reduce or waive the price. Unless stated otherwise, each code may be redeemed once per user account, regardless of how many total uses the code allows. Coupon codes carry no cash value, cannot be exchanged or resold, and we reserve the right to limit, modify, or deactivate any code at any time. Reports obtained by circumventing coupon limits (for example, through multiple accounts) may be revoked without refund.

4. Not counselling or advice

Our assessments and reports are decision-support tools for self-exploration. They are not psychological testing, medical advice, formal career counselling, or a guarantee of aptitude or outcomes. Narrative sections are generated with the help of AI language models and may contain inaccuracies — use the report as one input among many, not as a directive.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to share your account, resell or redistribute reports, attempt to bypass payment or coupon limits, probe or disrupt the Service, or use automated tools to scrape it. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms; genuine purchases on a suspended account will be refunded per our Refund Policy.

6. Our rights

To operate and protect the Service, Shadow & Sun reserves the right to: collect, store, and process the information you provide as described in our Privacy Policy; modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service; change prices and promotional offers for future purchases; enforce usage and coupon limits; and take reasonable measures to protect its legitimate interests, its users, and its systems against fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access. These rights are exercised in accordance with applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

7. Your content and our IP

You retain rights to the information you provide. Your report is for your personal, non-commercial use. The assessment items, scoring methodology, report design, and all site content remain our intellectual property and may not be reproduced without permission.

8. Liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms as the Service evolves; material changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes. Questions about these terms: connect@shadowandsun.app.
